In my debut book, The Power of Us, I outlined a vision for how to make society function "as it should." It is a concise deep-dive into a variety of social issues that dominate our headlines that includes steps that we can take by ourselves and as a society in order to realize a society that works for all of us.
Below is a summary of the subsequent works on this website relating to the book, and these are coupled with the proposed solutions included in The Power of Us itself. After this summary, the projected outcomes of the implementation of each of these solutions and a recap of the reciprocal global benefit of implementing ideas in society that run on "us"-thinking is noted.
Ready for a better tomorrow?
Let's explore why The Power of Us is a must-have on your bookshelf!
By implementing these kinds of "us"-thinking solutions, we can realize all of the benefits of an economic system which works for all. We can fix our system instead of dismantling it by resorting to socialism. The Power of Us and Web Article #2 on the website both address this issue in differing ways that center around the idea of making our economics work in a circlar staircase up instead of a trickle down.
By implementing these kinds of "us"-thinking solutions, we can realize all of the benefits of an economic system which works for all of us while also providing increased innovation and consumer satisfaction.
We have all seen the news about childhood bullying in this country, and have been called on to raise our awareness of the issue; but what the news doesn't talk about is how this is caused by adult bullying, and that it is not an isolated issue. The Power of Us takes aim at this problem and briefly suggests that it isn't a situation of "boys will be boys" and "girls are mean," but that bullying; specifically childhood bullying; are a result of "men will be men" and "women are mean." Children learn by modeling adults. They did not invent bullying and bring it home to us.
Acknowledging this is how we defeat bullying; not just for children; but for all of us.
In The Power of Us, I asserted that our current administration of the practice of mental health is anything but mentally healthy. In the concluding section of The Power of Us, I outlined that one possible solution to the currently practice of pathologizing individuals for interventions was to add an element of self-discovery in order to make mental health practice about thriving in addition to simply coping. As an extension of this, I have published my second book, Self-Discovery Therapy (SDT) ~Knowing Yourself is How You Succeed~, available soon!
By implementing the proposals within of The Power of Us and Self-Discovery Therapy, and on this website's Web Article #4 "Mental Diversity" we can begin to realize the end of stigma in mental health, and between each other.
The Power of Us proposes many ideas for the amelioration of the drug epidemic that focuses on better regulatory infrastructure, and better drug treatment for individuals that get at the root causes of drug abuse and drug overdose. My second book Self-Discovery Therapy (SDT) is part of the proposed upgrade for better drug treatment from a mental health perspective. Effectively abstaining from drug use is best achieved by learning or re-learning to love ourselves, and taking responsibility built on this.
Acknowledging this and taking action accordingly is the first step to a broader acceptance of a drug-free society, and a society with less drug abuse is a safer society for all of us.
The homelessness problem is a problem for both the homeless themselves and those that are tasking themselves with helping resolve the problem. It is a problem of too much of the wrong kind of kindness to themselves and the clients that they serve respectively. It is further complicated and caused by all of the aforenoted social issues, and is truly a seemingly insurmountable problem to solve; but it is not. The Power of Us illustrates a compelling idea for serving these embattled populations.
Along with the proposals within the book, a higher expectation of non-profits to be producing real quarterly results like a corporation in order to receive continued funding will go very far towards making society a welcoming and secure place for all of us.
By implementing the above, updated economic model and market inclusion discussed in my web articles and The Power of Us; "we can all get richer!" Who doesn't want more money and nicer things?
The results are clear in any study that you look at considering bullying. Bullying is about power-domination, and the suicides caused by it are from feelings of inferiority. By feeling less compelled to beat each other, we can end bullying as we know it.
In knowing that we are all neurodivergent and that we each posses untapped powers, and with the professional help to discover and utilize these gifts; we raise the net potential of the general population. We make being human something to be celebrated rather than celebrating being a only a select type of human.
When we help the drug abuser love themselves, then will they fit into a society made of others who also love themselves. When we have a neighborly commitment to each other and a clear awareness of what drugs are, we can then more readily offer help to those that we recognize as in need.
Instead of charity handouts and social security, we can have solution handouts and a secure society. In an "us"-society where no man is left behind, where we all delight in protecting the herd; we all can have greater confidence no matter what life throws at us. Instead of controlling and maintaining an otherwise "unsolvable" problem, we can solve the problem and generate opportunity at the same time.
Most riveting, The Power of Us shows that these solutions benefit each adverse societal condition reciprocally to affect all others as well. The Power of Us illustrates for us the spirit of unity that is essential for us to realize a truly admirable, highest-game society. A beacon of hope and humanity for all of us!
